A Note on Mobility Tricycles From Our Founder, Pat Ward-Seitz

Our adult tricycles are special needs bikes that promote inclusive cycling for poor balance, ALS

Why I Started Access Trikes

I was diagnosed with a slow moving form of ALS in 2013. Being able to keep riding on adult tricycles has been crucial to my physical and mental health.

Every time I get on the bike, my symptoms melt away and I'm back on the road... or the trail. It feels like magic!

During my journey from cane to rollator to wheelchair, I also progressed from bike to trike to a pedal assist trike.

As my abilities changed, key components like pedals, controls, gearing, and motor setup on my mobility tricycles also evolved. The local shops knew recumbent trikes, but they didn’t know the right questions to ask people like me. There was a lot of trial and error and I learned many lessons in finding the right bike and setup.

I will use that experience to help you find the perfect trike for your needs.
